5 Insane Morning Rituals That Will Supercharge Your Day

Some of the most successful people in your industry most likely have the most insane morning rituals.

If you’ve ever wondered how you should start off a super productive day with a huge energy boost then wonder no more! We’ve got you covered.

In this post we're going to share some morning ritual ideas for you to try.

We haven't lost the plot! These are tried and tested methods and proven to gear you up for a turbo-charged day.

Now, we're not suggesting you do all of these things (that would be actually insane), but why not try one for a week and see if you can make your mornings more successful?

1. Start Your Morning Routine The Night Before

Yep, that's right.

One of the best ways to boost your morning routine is to actually start it the night before.

As a business owner or entrepreneur, it can be pretty terrifying to think about being without your phone for a prolonged period of time.

What if you miss an urgent email or a game-changing notification?

Realistically, the chances of either of these things happening through the night are slim.

Wouldn't you rather be getting your head down for a good nights sleep instead of checking your phone every few minutes before you nod off?Start Your Morning Routine The Night Before

Best-selling author Nir Eyal actually has a timer set in his house that shuts off his internet connection at 10pm each night.

This means that he has no choice, he has to shut off his brain from internet updates and focus on other things (rest mainly).

If this sounds like your cup of tea you can read more about Nir Eyal's morning routine here.

Now we're not suggesting that you go to these lengths, but why not try charging your phone in another room overnight?

Let's take it one step further, leave your phone in that room until a set time the next morning, let's say 8am.

Personally I find that not looking at my phone in the morning works wonders for my productivity and my general mood.

No distractions first thing in the morning means that you can get on with the important things to set you up for a great day!

2. Wake Up Early – Really Early!

‘There aren't enough hours in the day' I hear you cry.

Well actually there could be if you woke up a couple of hours earlier!

Wake Up Early - Really Early!

How does a 5am wake up call sound?

Before you totally dismiss this idea, remember that a lot of super successful people wake up at this crazy hour.

Billionaire Richard Branson likes to wake up around 5am every morning so that he can make the most out of his morning, and ultimately his day.

He sleeps with his curtains open so that he can be woken naturally by the sunlight.

It’s hard not to be enthusiastic about the day ahead with the sun streaming through the windows.Richard Branson

Now, we know that everybody may not be blessed with glorious sunlight shining through their windows early in the morning.

This is where you can turn to your trusty alarm clock.

There's a catch though…you're not allowed to snooze! At all, no snoozing!

3. Get Pumped and Ready for The Day

What better way to start your day than with a nice big blast of endorphins to get you feeling great!

Now, I can already hear you sighing at the thought of exercise first thing in the morning, but stick with us…Get Pumped and Ready for The Day

Over 64 million people (in the US alone) already start their day with a morning jog, we're going to suggest that you turn it up a notch.

How does 30 minutes of intense exercise sounds to you?

World famous life and business coach Tony Robbins starts his mornings with an energy boosting fitness regime.

Robbins' routine includes high impact weights, meditation and something named ‘The Torture Machine'. If that doesn't sound extreme enough for you, he finishes it all off with an ice cold plunge bath.

The idea behind this kind of intense morning exercise is that it wakes you up and kicks your brain into gear!

4. Motivate Your Mind

There's something to be said for getting out of the wrong side of the bed.

In other words, starting your day in the right mood or the wrong mood.

The information you consume during your morning routine can have a huge impact on your mood for the rest of the day.

That being said, why not take total control of what you see, hear and read when you wake up?

Rather than just aimlessly scrolling through social media channels you should set yourself goals for what kind of information you want to see.

Motivate Your Mind

For example you could decide to listen to one really great motivational podcast every morning.

You could read one chapter of your book with your morning coffee, or catch up with one important person in your life.

Tech investor and entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk tries to get through as much important and relevant information as he can each morning, in a number of different ways.

He reads media newsletters, checks out news outlet websites and makes time to engage with his huge twitter following.

After all that he still finds time to catch up with what his friends and family are up to. He does this every morning before he starts his day.

5. Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day

One of the best ways to start your day is with a high protein breakfast.

Not only will it give you a heap of energy to throw you into a great day but it can also be super tasty, win-win!

We are, of course, talking about a steak and egg breakfast.Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day

You may think you don't have time to make a big breakfast in the morning, but that's why you've also decided to wake up at 5am right?!

Steak and eggs is full of protein and good fats and low in carbohydrates.

This means that you won't get any of that nasty carbohydrate fatigue later in the morning.

Instead you'll be hit with a nice balance of energy and a great boost to the start of your day.

Of course if you're meat-free there are plenty of high protein alternatives for you.

  • I really try to put my phone down a bit before bed, but still find myself reaching for it! My goal would be to get up earlier too!

    • It’s such a good habit to get into! I found that when I started leaving my phone in another room I was actually getting a better night’s sleep, which helps with getting up extra early.

  • Awesome suggestions! I use to get up in the morning and go to the gym and I agree it was very energizing. With new responsibilities that routine had to change for now. I already wake up at 5:30 am and with waking up with a 1 and 2 year old g-girls any earlier is out of the questions, lol… So, I would say motivating my mind. Thanks for sharing..

    • Yep, being a parent certainly doesn’t leave much time for extreme fitness routines in the morning (other than chasing them around). Maybe a podcast during breakfast would be a good option! Thanks for stopping by and reading 🙂

  • I agree that it starts in the evening, that’s why I have a nighttime routine that I really enjoy and sets me up for success. Great tips!

  • I do start my morning the night before and it helps a lot! I prepare my breakfast ingredients and my outfit for the day before I go to sleep and it helps a lot in the morning!

  • Really love these suggestions! I travel back and forth across the country so much it can be difficult to wake up early in the morning because my internal clock gets so confused by the time changes, but it’s definitely something I’m aiming to do. That and I also want to start working out in the mornings as well!

  • These are good suggestions. I’m trying to practice putting my phone down earlier before bed. I try to eat something quick because I’m a college kid with an 8am class

  • I totally believe the intense workout in the morning. No matter how late I go to the gym, there’s no way I’m ready to sleep after. I’m always SUPER motivated and happy after a good workout!
